Simon Schama mentioned the story of Little Hugh as an example of prejudism and hatred towards Jews in 13th century England. When the body of 8 year old Hugh was found, the whole Jewish community was accused of ritual murder, 92 Jews were imrisoned in the Tower of London and 18 were hanged for the crime they did not commit. When the tomb was opened in 18th century, the body of the child was intact, bearing no evidence of injuries the Jews were accused for.
